Dorjee L. II
Dorjee L. II is a girl born in 2014 in the village of Sanghar in Arunachal Preadesh, India. She is the second youngest child of a mother living in precarious circumstances with six children. Her widowed mother is poor and can barely support her children. Dorjee occasionally attends a local government school with very limited resources and educational opportunities. Thus, her future seems destined to remain in poverty and without education. Moreover, the current rate of school exclusion for girls is very high in these areas.
Her father died in an accident. Her mother works odd jobs and cares for the children and the household. Their financial situation is critical. She has six children: four boys and two girls. One of the boys attends a monastery, which is free; two attend the local school occasionally; and the youngest, a four-year-old, stays at home.
She is currently staying at the Tibetan Children’s Home and attends the nearby school.
The sponsor will be in direct contact with the child and monitor the progress in his education.
