Maya R. is a girl from a small remote village in the Eastern Himalayas. Her parents, with seven children, are illiterate and live poorly from farming a small piece of land. She went to school late, at age 9, because she couldn’t be helped earlier. She likes math and science, and her favorite sport is basketball. Her initial sponsors schooled her into the English language system.

She needs help to continue her education.
