The 2022-25 campaigns have been completed with the schooling of all the children included in the plan. They will leave poverty and can occupy a dignified position in society, contributing to the development of the area. Plan for 2026 going on.

The children’s schooling is carried out through their accommodation at the Tibetan Children’s Home in Dehradun TCH (Himalayas of India), with which the Foundation has established an agreement. They go to a public school, near TCH.

Our project aims to build hostels for under privileged girls and boys from villages near Tawang, the area of Tibetan culture in the foothills of the Himalayas, in Northeast India.

PROJECT OF HOSTELS FOR SCHOOLING GIRLS AND BOYS IN TAWANG (HIMALAYAS)

Arunachal Pradesh is the state of India with the lowest level of schooling and high poverty.

Our project, in collaboration with our associated center Geyje Norling, Monastery and Charitable Society, aims to build a residence (hostel facilities), now under construction, for girls and boys from the Lumla Valley villages near Tawang, the area of Tibetan culture in the foothills of the Himalayas, in Northeast India.

Children are currently unable to attend Tawang’s government schools because of their remoteness from their villages or because of their parents’ poverty or lack of education. A hostel  supervised by the Foundation and the lamas of the nearby Geyje Norling Monastery and Charitable Society, which is a associated center of the Foundation, will make it possible for the children to have an education and a future, and the area will increase its sustainable development.

With the hostel, the children will be able to have boarding so that they can attend the government school regularly during the academic year. There is a plan to build also a school in the near future.

Another hostel near the city of Tawang is in planning stage.

PROJECT OF HOSTEL/SCHOOL IN ITANAGAR (ARUNACHAL PRADESH – INDIA)

The objective of the project is the construction, in a first phase, of a hostel for girls and boys from villages, who belong to minorities and refugees from nearby countries, and who are in very precarious conditions, almost of subsistence.

PROJECT OF HOSTEL/SCHOOL IN ITANAGAR (ARUNACHAL PRADESH – INDIA)

Arunachal Pradesh is the state of India with the lowest level of schooling and high poverty.

The project objective is to build a hostel and school for under privileged children. The project is carried out in collaboration with our associate center Geyje Norling Monastery and Charitable Society. The site is located in the south of Arunachal Pradesh, next to Assam, and aims to help school children from villages in the area of northeastern India, next to an airport under construction, which will facilitate access. Minorities and refugees from Bangladesh (Chakma) reside in these villages, living in very precarious conditions, almost of subsistence.

The land, located in an elevated position, and close to the villages, has been donated by a local owner.

The gradual construction of the following modules is planned. In the first phase, a hostel that will make it possible for children to access a public primary school, by having a place to stay in the vicinity of the school. In a second phase, the plan is to build a primary school.

The road is currently being built, approximately 1.5 km long, to access the place where the hostel and later the school will be built.

Next, the donated land will be leveled and topographical data will be taken to prepare the engineering/architecture project.
