Pema Y.

Pema Y. is a girl born in 2015 in the village of Dundunghar in the eastern Himalayas (Mön Arunachal). Her parents have five children and are in a very precarious financial situation, barely able to support their children. Pema occasionally attends a local government school with very limited resources and educational opportunities. Therefore, her future seems destined to remain in poverty and without education. It is important to note that the current rate of exclusion of girls is very high in these areas, making girls’ education a development priority.

The family has five children, one boys and four girls. The boy is in the monastery, and the girls stay at home or attend the small public local village school.

She is currently staying at the Tibetan Children’s Home (TCH) and attends the nearby school.

The sponsor will be in direct contact with the child and monitor the progress in his education.
