PROJECT OF NEW KITCHEN, BOY´S DORMITORY AND OTHER IMPROVEMENTS at the TIBETAN CHILDREN’S HOME
This project, in collaboration with our partner center, Geyje Norling Monastery and Charitable Society, aims to renovate the kitchen, boy´s dormitory, and make other improvements at the Tibetan Children’s Home in Dehradun. The old building was in a state of disrepair, with cracks and structural damage. The Tibetan Children’s Home primarily houses children at risk of exclusion from villages in Arunachal Pradesh and other parts of India. Arunachal Pradesh is the Indian state with the lowest school enrollment rate and high poverty rates. Children are unable to attend suitable schools due to the remoteness of their villages or because of their parents’ poverty or lack of education.
The residence, with which the Foundation and the lamas of the Geyje Norling Monastery and Charitable Society have an agreement, provides accommodation and support so that children can regularly attend the nearby school and achieve a dignified future.
